Handwoven Varni Kilim Rug – Unique Red Design
$64,05
The Verni, sometimes called the needle kilim, is a type of sumac, which is woven without reference to a pattern by the girls and women of the Arasbaran nomads. In fact, the Verni is a type of single-sided kilim or carpet-like kilim without lint and is formed and patterned in the weft-weft style, meaning that the main weft is passed through the warp and the warp yarn is twisted around the warp yarns. The general design of the Verni consists of three components: the border, the text, and the bergamot (göl, meaning pond). The main decorative feature is the S-element, which is sometimes displayed in a form similar to S or 5. This element in nomadic culture evokes the concept of a dragon. The Verni weavers use patterns such as deer, deer, wolf, herding dog, turkey, chicken and rooster, jackal, robare, local birds, etc. in a very beautiful and geometric way.
